<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reflection preventing film which is superior in antireflection performance, surface hardness and removability of stains therefrom. <P>SOLUTION: The film is formed by coating a support with coating liquid which includes metallic oxide sol and metallic oxide particulates and drying the liquid. It is desirable to constitute the coating liquid so that 5 to 50 pts. wt. metallic oxide particulates are included in the metallic oxide sol with respect to 100 pts. wt. metallic oxide components.
