<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a biodegradable card which has a mechanical strength suited for gate characteristics such as rigidity during reading/writing by a machine despite its biodegradability; is durable, resistant to bending, water and chemical or waterproof; and is appropriately pliable/durable even in case its thickness merely ranges from 700 to 800μm and thus meets these requirements, and a method for manufacturing this card. <P>SOLUTION: In the biodegradable card which is a multi-layered card using a biodegradable resin, a pair of biaxially oriented layers of thermoplastic polymers composed mainly of either of polylactic aid or a copolymer of lactic acid and oxycarboxylic acid, located in the center of the thickness direction of the card, are arranged in the way that the mutual orientations of the paired layers are identical in the two-dimensional direction along the layers. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
