PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rail coming-off prevention device for an elevator capable of holding required engaging allowance by corresponding to displacement of an elevating body and bending of a guide rail. SOLUTION: This rail coming-off prevention device for the elevator is provided with a coming-off prevention body 11 opposing to the guide rail 3, a support body supporting the coming-off prevention body 11 to move in the horizontal direction, a rod 12 which is connected with the coming-off prevention body 11 through, for example, a long hole 12a and whose lower end is pivotably supported, a pressing body giving pressing force in the direction of the guide rail 3 to the rod 12, a tensile spring 13 provided between, for example, the rod 12 and a plate body 5b, an interval holding body coming into slide contact with the guide rail 3 to hold an interval between the coming-off prevention body 11 and the guide rail 3, and a small rod 14a attached to, for example, the rod 12 and a roller 14b pivotably supported on the small rod 14a and coming into slide contact with the guide rail 3.
