<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus in which a toner on an intermediate transfer medium prevents color mixture in a toner for the next development, with respect to an image forming apparatus in which toner images are formed using toners of a plurality of colors and color images are sequentially formed on an intermediate transfer medium and transferred onto a recording medium. <P>SOLUTION: In the image forming apparatus, an electrostatic latent image is formed on a latent image carrier, toner images are sequentially formed using developing units with a plurality of color toners, and a formed image is transferred onto a recording medium.
