MEMORY CONTROL DEVICE AND METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid un overflow and un underflow of a buffer that is used in a device provided with an input part for inputting processing data, a processing part for processing the data and an output part for outputting the processed data and is required at input and output when controlling data transfer among each of the parts and a memory.

SOLUTION: A memory control device comprises: a means for issuing a series of data transfer commands generated between the memory and the processing part, according to a prescribed order; a means for storing a maximum value of data transfer intervals generated between the the input part that is limited due to a buffer capacity of the input part and the memory and a maximum value of data transfer intervals generated between the output part that is limited due to a buffer capacity of the output part and the memory; and a means for determining a data transfer command to be executed next, according to the issued data transfer commands and two maximum values. Accordingly, a transfer sequence is dramatically changed so as to avoid the overflow and the underflow of the buffer.
