摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light guide plate, its manufacturing method, and a plane light-emitting device using it, capable of obtaining the brightness of plane light emission which has not been singly obtained, by making the most of advantage of a grooving process by machine cutting and a grooving process by laser irradiation. <P>SOLUTION: Of the plane light-emitting device emitting light incident from the end face of the light guide plate 2 from a surface side by being reflected at a group of grooves formed at the rear surface of the light guide plate 2, the group of the grooves 24 is composed of a number of thick grooves 22 formed in parallel with the incident side end face of a transparent plate 21 and a number of thin grooves formed in parallel with the thick grooves 22 between each adjacent thick grooves 22, 22 and at the wall face of each thick groove 22. Light incident from the end face of the light guide plate 2 reflects diffusely inside the thickness of the plate in a direction away from a light source largely by the thick grooves. Further, since the light is guided toward a light-emitting face by enlarging a light reflection area of the rear face of the light guide plate 2 with the thin grooves 23, the brightness of the light-emitting face can be improved. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
