CONTROLLER EQUIPMENT TO BE CONNECTED WITH IEEE 1394 SERIAL BUS, AND NETWORK SYSTEM USING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To promptly transmit a reproduction rewinding command and a reproduction fast-forward command to a magnetic tape reproduction device when a rewinding key and a fast-forward key are inputted following a reproduction key in controller equipment to be connected with the magnetic tape reproduction device via an IEEE 1394 serial bus.

SOLUTION: The controller equipment is constituted so that a CPU on the side of a controller 1 judges a kind of the command to be transmitted to a VTR 2 (S7) based on the contents of a reproduction flag and a kind of the clicked button by turning the reproduction flag on (S4 and S5) at the point of time when a response of normal acceptance to a reproduction command is returned from the VTR 2 without confirming whether or not the VTR 2 is under reproduction when a rewinding button is clicked following a reproduction button. Thus, the reproduction fast-forward command is promptly transmitted to the VTR 2 since the kind of command is judged without waiting return of an inquiry result whether or not the VTR 2 is under reproduction from the VTR 2.
