摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a modulation/demodulation system exhibiting significant tolerance for the communication quality deterioration due to the interference when the transmission capacity is increased and a large number of communication units exist in a communication system employing a pulse signal.

SOLUTION: Using a plurality of pulse signals having a time waveform of approximately Gaussian distribution from a pulse generator 14, a modulation circuit group 15 performs time differentiation modulation different number of times for each pulse signal to generate signal groups in an orthogonal relation having a waveform of the product of approximate Hermitian function and Gaussian distribution. Input data 12 to be transmitted is assigned independently to the amplitude of each signal and a synthesis unit 16 radiates respective signals superposed and multiplexed under synchronized state from an antenna 17 thus realizing a large transmission capacity at the time of transmission.
