PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and a method for graphic display capable of easily recognizing the approach of a destination while watching the display. SOLUTION: The graphic display apparatus is provided with a display unit 9 for graphic display, an operating part 1 for inputting the destination, a memory 3 for storing the destination inputted from the operating part 1, a position detector 4 for detecting a present location, a control unit 2 for comparing the present location detected by the position detector 4 with the destination stored in the memory 3 and halting the graphic display on the display unit 9 in the case that the approach of the destination is detected, and an output control unit 8.
