PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a chance of finding no appropriate fingerprint match (matching-NG) for a person from whom blurred fingerprint information is acquired. SOLUTION: A fingerprint matching device collates inputted fingerprint data with registered fingerprint data. The device has a certification means (S13 to S15) which certifies that inputted fingerprint data is identical with data on the identical person which has been registered as registered fingerprint data, if the inputted fingerprint data matches the registered fingerprint data by a first percent (95%) or more; a second certification means (S7', S8', S15') which certifies that the inputted fingerprint data is not identical with the data on the identical person which has been registered as the registered fingerprint data, if the inputted fingerprint data matches the registered fingerprint data only by less than a second percent (80%); and an additional registration means (S7 to S12) which at the instant when a case where the inputted fingerprint data matches the registered fingerprint data by a percent equal to the second percent or more and below the first percent occurs N times consecutively, additionally registers the inputted fingerprint data at the instant as the registered fingerprint data.
