An illuminated sign, or lighting system, has a body (2) made of light transmitting material and provided with a slot to house one or more LEDs (8). The LEDs are fully protected in the recessed fitting and their light output is directed into the light transmitting element. The electric feed lines to the LEDs are located in connecting grooves open to the outside. The individual LEDs are separated by spacer material. For multiple LEDs at least two are connected in series. The LEDs are secured into their fittings by a bonding/filler material. |
