<p>An optical transmission system in which the noise component is cancelled and the construction cost is lower than conventional. An optical signal is transmitted from an optical transmitter to an optical receiver, the noise component having entered during the transmission is cancelled, and an output electric signal is outputted. The optical receiver is connected to the optical transmitter through one optical fiber, and an optical signal before intensity modulation is transmitted through the optical signal. The optical receiver comprises a first processing section that intensity-modulates the received optical signal and converts the optical signal into two optical signals the intensity-modulated components of which have opposite phases, first and second transmission optical fibers for transmitting the optical signals the intensity-modulated components of which have opposite phases, and a second processing section for converting the two optical signals into respective electric signals at the transmission ends, inversion-amplifying the electric signals, and generates an output electric signal.</p> |
