<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a karaoke device, which displays lyrics over an automatic musical performance, to easily evaluate singer's skill in singing and also easily let the singer know the result. <P>SOLUTION: In synchronism with the progress of a musical piece, a speech signal of the singer is compared with reference data to grade the singing. According to the scoring result, the character color of a lyrics subtitle is changed. Consequently, a graded part of the displayed lyrics is in a display color corresponding to the grading result, so the singer can judge his or her skill in singing for a fixed period wherein the continuous lyrics are displayed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
