PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem wherein it is requested that a process relating to a document but unrelated to printing should be executed by a printer, for instance, a user has a demand to realize that a document is transmitted to a document control system only by printing the document and thereby the printer copies the document in the document control system. SOLUTION: A network printer is so structured as to control a virtual medium tray for defining combination of a physical paper feed tray with other processes. A plurality of or alternative output addresses are defined for the document transmitted to the printer by the virtual medium tray. In addition, conditions can be related to the processes, and thereby a specific process can be executed when a designated condition is satisfied by it. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
