PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to cancel printing of predetermined printing data in printing data which is once received by a printer. SOLUTION: Printing data sent from a host computer 200 is once supplied to a temporary buffer 24 each for one item, and transferred to a buffer 25 before printing data of next item is supplied, and stored therein. When an operator operates an operation panel 33, and inputs an item number of printing data required to be deleted, part of the printing data of the item number is displayed on a display 36. When the operator confirms the deletion of the printing data corresponding to the part of the printing data displayed on the display 36, the CPU 21 deletes the printing data from the buffer 25 in order to prevent the printing data from being printed.
