PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a network scanner apparatus for transmitting image data via a network whereby a person making image data transmission operations can easily utilize a reply mail in response to the data and an error mail. SOLUTION: The network scanner apparatus is provided with: a read section for scanning an original to obtain image data (S3); a first setting means (S5) for setting a recipient address to which the image data are transmitted; a second setting means (S8, S10) for setting a sender address to represent a sender in place of a sender address for particularizing the network scanner apparatus; and a transmission control means (S4) for attaching the set sender address to the image data and controlling the transmission of the resulting image data to the set recipient address.
