PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exciter that reduces magnetic resistance and iron loss, but increases magnetic flux (B) of the exciter (stator) of which yokes are divided in a circumferential direction, and a synchronizer using the exciter. SOLUTION: The exciter generates a shifting magnetic field by feeding an electric current, wherein the exciter includes yokes and teeth, and the yokes are divided in the circumferential direction of the exciter.
