PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an object detector in which a decorative cover 2 can be easily attached and detached to/from a case 1 even when the cover 2 is the one of low flexibility such as the one to which metal plating is executed. SOLUTION: The detector for detecting an object by detecting detection waves is provided with the case 1 made of resin for housing an electronic component 4 and an optical component 3 and the decorative cover 2 covering it. A flexible locking pawl 5 is integrally formed on the case 1 and a locking projection 6 to be locked to the tip of the locking pawl 5 is integrally formed on the decorative cover 2. On the locking pawl 5, a guide surface 51 for guiding the locking projection 6 to the tip of the locking pawl 5 while being deflected by being pressurized by the locking projection 6 is formed.
