PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce an efficient photocatalyst filter, and to provide a production method therefor. SOLUTION: The photocatalyst filter is prepared in a connected and multivoid form preferably from a transparent silica material such as silica and glass. The photocatalyst filter has a photocatalyst carrier 2 formed so that particulates 22 of the silica material compartment the fine void part 21, a photocatalyst 3 which is installed on the surface of the fine void part 21 by adhering and a plurality of optical fibers 1. The optical fiber 1 is embedded in the inside of the photocatalyst carrier 2, and in the optical fiber, the outer periphery of a clad part 1B is fused to the silica material of the photocatalyst carrier 2 positioned at the outside thereof.
