PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a support gap adjusting method capable of adjusting and confirming a support gap for a U-bolt quickly and simply. SOLUTION: The U-bolt 1 for mounting a pipe 4 on a structure 5 is structured so that a flat surface 11 is prepared on the thread part 12 of the U-bolt 1 and furnished with graduations 13 in the bolt longitudinal direction, whereby the support gap a of the U-bolt 1 is confirmed ocularly and necessary adjustment is performed on the basis of the relationship between the graduations 13 and the position of an upper nut 3 engaged on the thread part 12 of the bolt 1.
