PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drain cock device for a water tank by which an interference with the floor face of a drainage nut is prevented, the curve of a releasing wire can be ensured and the sufficient discharge of drainage can be assured. SOLUTION: The drain cock device for the water tank has a drain cock 2 installed to the drain inlet 1 of the base 22 of the water tank, a straight stop valve 3 with a valve 4 opening and closing the drain cock, the releasing wire 6 transmitting the operating physical force of an operating section to the valve 3 and opening and closing the drain cock and the drainage nut 13 fixing the cock 2 to the drain inlet 1 of the base 22. An upper end 15a on the front end side of a wire connecting section 15 for the nut 13 with a cylindrical drainage-nut body section 14 fitted to the cock 2 and the wire connecting section 15, in which the wire 6 is inserted, is mounted on the drain cock device so as to be positioned at a section upper than the upper end 14a of the drainage-nut body section 14.
