The compression level determination method has at least one eddy current sensor (7) used for generating an eddy current field in the vicinity of the compression coupling between the components (1,2) and for providing a measuring signal from which the compression level of the compression coupling can be determined. An independent claim for a device for determining the compression level of a cold-formed compression coupling between 2 components is also included.
