PURPOSE: A DSPDVR(Distributed Signal Processing Digital Video Recorder) is provided to install DSPUs(Digital Signal Processing Units) for performing A/D conversions and compressions in each region where cameras are installed, and to transmit compressed video signals to a central server, thereby reproducing high definition images. CONSTITUTION: Digital video signals inputted from each A/D converter are inputted to an image data processor(31). The image data processor(31) forms frames for dividing the digital video signals at predetermined time intervals, and transmits the frames to a compression/transmission portion(32). The compression/transmission portion(32) compresses data, such that the data is transmitted to a DSPDVR through a serial communication interface(33). An SRAM(34) is used for storing programs of the image data processor(31). An SDSRAM(35) is used for storing programs of the compression/transmission portion(32).
