<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which can align the position for starting writing of an image by each of respective colors with extremely simple circuitry with good accuracy. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus is equipped with a sub-pixel clock generating section 108 for generating a sub-pixel clock signal which is a reference clock signal, a BD sensor 105 for outputting a BD signal which is a synchronizing signal in a main scanning direction for writing the image by line scanning on a photoreceptor, a first BD detecting section 106 for detecting the BD signal at the timing for the first rising of the sub-pixel clock signal, a second BD detecting section 107 for detecting the BD signal at the timing for the first falling of the sub-pixel clock signal, and a pixel signal forming section 109 for variably controlling the period after the first section 106 detects the BD signal before the writing of the image on the photoreceptor is started according to which of the first section 106 and the second section 107 detects the BD signal first. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
