<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device which can obtain an image with a decreased texture or with no texture, regardless of an aged deterioration of a developer etc., change in environment, difference in type of devices, etc., and to provide an image forming method. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming device has a test pattern generating means 131 for generating a predetermined test pattern image for detecting texture on an image carrier, a concentration distribution measuring means 132 for measuring concentration distribution (physical amount distribution) of the test pattern image, an image quality characteristic calculating means 133 for detecting the texture from the concentration distribution measured by the concentration distribution measuring means 132, a noise increment calculating means for calculating an optimum noise increment from a texture detection result by the image quality characteristic calculating means 133, and a noise adding means for adding the optimum noise increment calculated by the noise increment calculating means to an original image data. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
