<p>Waste water treatment assembly comprises a biological treatment assembly with a grooved (3) substrate surface (2) for a colony of micro- organisms (5). The grooved substrate surface is cleared of excess micro- organisms by a rotor (6), either continually or intermittently. Waste water treatment assembly comprises of a parallel or overlapping array of contra- rotating grooved discs with a drive unit. The substrate surface is a porous, rough, or has a surface structure preferably grooves acting as the residence surface for micro- organisms. The parallel discs are separated by fluid channels through which gas e.g. oxygen may be introduced to promote the water treatment process.</p> |
