PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber-like elastic support device for efficiently performing confirming work of a rail joint opening quantity without the problem by misreading of a scale of a worker at confirming work before arranging the rubber-like elastic support device at a job site in assembling, and its assembling method. SOLUTION: This rubber-like elastic support device is constituted by arranging a rubber-like elastic support body 17 between a lower shoe 1 of fixing a side block 3 having a projecting part 7 of upwardly projecting an intermediate part to both sides and an upper shoe 23 of forming a cutout part 21 on both sides for engaging with the projecting part 7 with a prescribed rail joint opening quantity (x), and has a rail joint opening quantity confirming tool 31 for confirming the rail joint opening quantity (x) by being inserted between the projecting part 7 and both cutout walls 27 and 29 of the cutout part 21.
