摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus which enables the power consumption thereof to be reduced even employing an imaging element with a large number of horizontal pixels. SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus is provided with: a light receiving section having a plurality of light receiving elements arranged in a matrix form, applying photoelectric conversion to an incident optical image of an object with the use of the light receiving elements and storing electric charges; a vertical transfer section for reading electric charges of the pixels stored in the light receiving section and transferring the electric charges in a vertical direction; a horizontal transfer section for transferring the electric charges of the pixels transferred from the vertical transfer section in a horizontal direction; a timing control section for generating a vertical transfer clock to drive the vertical transfer section and supplying the clock to the vertical transfer section, and for generating a horizontal transfer clock H1 to drive the horizontal transfer section and supplying the clock to the horizontal transfer section; and a signal processing section for converting a pixel electric charge sequence outputted from the horizontal transfer section into a prescribed imaging signal.
