PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a skew incidence imaging optical system having a wide viewing angle with less distortion. SOLUTION: A luminous flux emitted from one conjugate surface A at an open angle of≥10°successively passes through a 1st optical system (30) having a luminous flux convergence action near the reference axis and a 2nd optical system (31) having a luminous flux divergence action near the reference axis, and then, the flux is converged on the other conjugate surface B. By setting a fixed condition as to the convergence distance of each converging point of the luminous flux cross section including principal ray in accordance with the passing position of the luminous flux passing through the 1st optical system (30), the skew incidence optical system having a half angle of≥60°can be obtained with a comparatively simple constitution, irrespective of the kind of an optical element in use.
