PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical detection apparatus and a detection method of a printed circuit board for improving quality control of a manufacturing process and enhancing productivity of the manufacturing process, in response to swift speed detection. SOLUTION: The optical detection apparatus of the printed circuit board is provided with a planar printed circuit board, an illumination system having a plurality of light-emitting elements distributed densely and coupled on the planar printed circuit board, in a planar matrix form and is separated into at least one region, based on a distance between one reference center point; a control system connected to the illumination system and controlling a plurality of the light-emitting elements of the illumination system so as to select and illuminate at least one region; a planar lens system, having at least one plane lens placed in the front of the illumination system and coupled tightly to the illumination system and focusing lights emitted from a plurality of the light-emitting elements on one location on the printed circuit board.
