PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent breakage of a shock absorbing material and improve a packing efficiency by improving visuality when an article to be packed is inserted into an exterior box. SOLUTION: The exterior box 4 has a structure so that the shock absorbing material 1 can be mounted on the upper end of the exterior box 4. By this structure, a packaging apparatus, which can prevent the breakage of the shock absorbing material 1 and improve the packaging efficiency by improving the visuality when the article 3 to be packed is inserted into the exterior box 4, can be provided.
