PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform video processing easily and inexpensively even when different driving frequencies or imaging methods are used or even when camera heads using different scanning methods are connected together. SOLUTION: A secondary circuit 4B of a camera control unit (CCU) 4 comprises a digital signal processor (DSP) 44 for processing digital video signals transmitted from isolation means 41, 42 and 43, an oscillator 52 for generating a master clock signal having a baseline frequency of 57.27272 MHz, a dividing circuit 51 for dividing the master clock signal put out from the oscillator 52 and for generating a clock (CLK) signal used for video signal processing, a synchronization signal generator (SSG) 50 for generating various synchronization signals, and a central processing unit (CPU) 53 for controlling the CCU 4 in various ways.
