Disclosed is a product security system for authenticating packed or unpacked products or products provided with an accessory pack and/or tag, and/or the manufacturer, distributor or dispatcher thereof. Said system comprises at least one product identifier which clearly identifies each individual product of the manufacturer, distributor or dispatcher, and at least one digital seal for each product identifier which can be or which is clearly allocated to the respective product. The digital seal is placed either partially or fully on top of, in and/or or on the product identified by the product identifier, on the packaging and/or accessory pack and/or tag such that it is recognizable. Said system also includes at least one registration server (2) consisting of a data bank which contains the product identifiers of the products secured by said product security system.
