The tool holder is designed to fit onto a rotary driven support plate (11) and is fitted with at least one machining tool which is made from polycrystalline diamond which is set in a socket on the tool holder (14). The polycrystalline diamond is made from a hard metal element provided with a layer of polycrystalline diamond.
