PRINTING CONTROL METHOD AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing control method and a printing controller by which all the gradation density from a low area rate to a high area rate is corrected even when a space distance (developing gap) between a photoreceptor and a developing roller is varied by every product in an electrophotographic recorder.

SOLUTION: In the printing control method for the electrophotographic recorder having the photoreceptor, an electrifier for applying charge to the photoreceptor, an exposure device for forming an electrostatic latent image by irradiating the photoreceptor with light, and a developing machine to which developing bias obtained by superposing an AC component is applied, the amplitude of the DC voltage and the AC component of the developing bias is alternately adjusted until the detected density of a dot image whose area rate is 60-80% becomes a value within a previously set range in the case of adjusting the DC voltage of the developing bias so that the detected density of a solid image may be a previously set value.
