PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a numerical controller for generating an efficient and optimized tool path for which the shape change of a workpiece to be machined by machining is taken into consideration. SOLUTION: A pocket shape inner side envelope offset to the inner side of a pocket shape by the length of a tool radius is generated and used as the tool path, an envelope offset to the inner side further by the length of the tool radius is generated, and an envelope offset to the outer side from the above generated envelope by a prescribed amount of the length is generated. It is used as the next tool path on the inner side of the tool path, envelope generation is repeated with the envelope uses as the tool path as the pocket shape inner side envelope, and thus the numerical controller generates the tool path for which the shape change of the workpiece to be machined by machining is taken into consideration.
