PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and surely clean a connection end face of an optical connector in the state in which the optical connector is inserted in a connector housing. SOLUTION: The optical connector cleaning unit is mounted with a cleaning member 2 for wiping the connection end face clean by relative motion to the connection end face of the optical connector in the connector housing, a driving mechanism 3 for moving the cleaning member, and the optical connector cleaning tool 6 coupling a driving auxiliary unit 5 provided with a driving auxiliary mechanism 50 is used for the optical connector cleaning unit 1 provided with a coupling part 4 capable of coupling the driving auxiliary mechanism 50 for applying driving power to the driving mechanism 3, and the coupling part 4 of this optical cleaning unit 1.
