PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stimulable (storage) phosphor screen or a panel providing an optimized signal-to-noise relation in an image obtained when processing digitally a plate after X-ray exposure. SOLUTION: In this Eu doped CsBr type storage phosphor screen or panel, 10/9 of ultraviolet luminescence intensity ratio is provided after exposed by a radiation having a wavelength of a range from 150 nm to 400 nm without pretreating the storage phosphor screen or panel using a short ultraviolet ray having a wavelength of a range from 150 nm to 300 nm having 10 mj/mm<SP>2</SP>of energy. Radiation exposure treatment is carried out by a radiation source emitting the short ultraviolet ray having a wavelength of a range from 150 nm to 300 nm having 10 mj/mm<SP>2</SP>of energy, during a production process or after the process.
