PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrically conductive composition with both a high electrical conductivity and excellent heat resistance and moisture resistance, a method for manufacturing it and a solid electrolytic capacitor with both excellent high frequency characteristics and high heat resistance and moisture resistance. SOLUTION: The electrically conductive composition is manufactured by oxidative polymerization of a thiophene derivative monomer with an oxidizing agent of a transition metal salt in a mixed solvent of water and a water-soluble organic solvent. The electrically conductive composition has an electrical conductivity of≥10 S/cm at room temperature, and the electrical conductivity after a heat resistance test (at 125°C for 500 hr) of≥2 S/cm. In addition, the solid electrolytic capacitor is manufactured by using this electrically conductive composition. By coexisting water in the mixed solution of the thiophene derivative monomer and the oxidizing agent, the electrically conductive composition with a high initial electrical conductivity, and with both less change with time in the electrical conductivity at a high temperature and high humidity, heat resistance and moisture resistance can be obtained.
