PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain reduced water which can be economically manufactured by a small manufacturing device, has a low oxidation-reduction potential although its pH is nearly neutral, and has a strong reducing property. SOLUTION: Hydrogen gas cooled to -180-60°C is pressurized to 0.5-500 atmosphere to be dissolved in water cooled to 0-50°C, and then returned to normal temperature and pressure to obtain the reduced water. As the reduced water has a very low oxidation-reduction potential of -175 mV although its pH is equal to or less than 9.0, i.e., nearly neutral, a large quantity of the reduced water can be daily taken and it can be used for cooking, without causing any health problem.
