A lighting device, for a room boundary feature (2), especially a door, which can be arranged in an open position and a closed position, includes a LED-lighting device (L) provided in the room-boundary feature (2) and is arranged in a functional element (1) so that it at least partly irradiates the edge of the room opening and /or the room-boundary feature (2) when the functional element is fixed on the room boundary feature (2) and the latter is in its closed position. A power supply (4) is integrated into the room-boundary feature (2) and has a re-chargeable DC voltage source (4a) connected electrically to the LED-lighting device (L). An independent claim is included for a room boundary feature, especially a door, window or gate etc.
