The invention relates to a method for production of an anti-fouling protective coating on a support which is to be immersed and a corresponding support. The method is characterised in comprising the following steps a) a step for application of a continuous layer of doped tin dioxide to said support and b) a step of anodic polarisation of said layer in a halogenated medium, such that following said step b) said layer has acquired a capacity to reduce the adhesion of microorganisms on the prolonged immersion of said support in natural waters.
