INK JET RECORD MEDIUM AND POSTCARD USING THIS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet recording medium which has a high feel of gloss and also a low permeability and of which the indentation of the opposite surface hardly stands out on an ink jet recording layer, and a postcard using the medium.

SOLUTION: The recording layer containing a pigment and a binder is provided on at least one side of a substrate having air permeability. The layer is contact-bonded to a heated specular finish surface while the layer is in a wet state, and is dried so that a gloss be given to the surface of the layer. In the ink jet recording medium thus formed, the substrate is made of paper pulp having a freeness of 200-380 ml C.S.F. and the ashes of all internal fillers in the substrate are 15 wt.% or below, while at least the ash of a titanium dioxide among them is 4 wt.% or above.
