<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To define a plurality of sections, to limit the use of a single image forming device by users outside the sections, and fairly limit the users in dependence on the function of the image forming device. <P>SOLUTION: When section-based management is not executed, the use of the image forming device is permitted. When section-based management is executed, an input of a section code and a section password is asked. If the input section code does not match a section code registered in advance, the use of the image forming device is prohibited. Upon matching, a section password related to the section code is checked, and if no section password is set, the use of the image forming device is permitted. If registered in advance, a section password registered in advance in relation to the section code is compared with the input section password.
