<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize effective functioning of a receiving buffer memory in a printer when data of each recording color component are compression coded and transmitted from an information transmitting unit such as a host computer, etc. to the printer. <P>SOLUTION: A printer driver receives drawing data regarding printing from a host process, and repeats to perform drawing (S2). When one-page end command is received, the drawn image data is converted into the recording color component, the ratio of the data quantity of each recording color component is informed to the printer based on a predicted coding quantity when the image data of each recording color component is compressed (S6), and a ring buffer size for allocating each color component of the receiving buffer memory is decided to the printer.
