<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem wherein an accidental press on a longitudinal and lateral middle position of a cross key can operate two or more of up, down, left and right key switches. <P>SOLUTION: A key input system has a cross key, a detection circuit for detecting a press on the cross key, a key press data table in which press patterns of the cross key and key determination results related to the respective press patterns are registered, a memory for storing various information, and a CPU for executing various control such as cross key detection. When the cross key is pressed down, the detection circuit detects press states of the cross key for a given number of times at given periods and stores them in the memory, where they are compared with the press patterns registered in the key press data table to specify the pressed key. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
