PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid development apparatus which permits recycling of the untransferred developer remaining on an image carrier and consists of a low-cost and compact structure and an image forming system equipped therewith. SOLUTION: The liquid development apparatus is equipped with a liquid developer container 2 which has a housing section 21 having an aperture atop the same and housing a liquid developer 11, a liquid feed path 13 disposed in the upper part of the housing section 21, a gear pump 12 for supplying the liquid developer 11 from the housing section 21 onto the path 13. and a recovering port 15 for returning the liquid developer 11 from the path 13 to the housing section 21, is constituted to bring the liquid developer 11 on the path 13 into contact with a transfer roll 3 through the aperture and is further provided with an inflow port 41 for the untransferred developer and stirring blades 42 for stirring and mixing the liquid developer returned from the liquid feed path 13 and the untransferred developer near the recovering port 15.
