PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact image inputting device in which trapezoidal distortion is not caused. SOLUTION: The case body of an image inputting device 1 is provided with a prism column plate 4. A plurality of prisms 4a with triangular cross-section are formed on the surface of the prism column plate 4. The prism column plate 4 is configured so that when diffused lights emitted from a position away from the surface of the prism column plate 4 are made incident on the surface of the prism column plate 4, the lights can exit from the back face of the prism column plate 4 in a range from 0°toα°and that the lights cannot exit from the back face of the prism column plate 4 in a range from 0°toβ°to the normal of the back face. In the case body of the image inputting device 1, with a soli-sate image pickup device 2 is arranged oppositely to the prism column plate 4, and a lens unit 3 having an optical axis orthogonal to the prism column plate 4 is arranged.
