PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connector durable to an arc generating just before insertion of a contact and just after removing of it. SOLUTION: In the connector inserting a male contact 13 into a female contact 10 or removing the male contact 13 from the female contact 10, a first contact part 30 for the arc is installed on the tip sides of two spring pieces 34, 35 of the female contact 10 on the facing surfaces of the two spring pieces 34, 35, and a second contact pat 31 for connection is installed so that a stroke of insertion of the male contact 13 into the female contact 10 or removal of the male contact 13 from the female contact 10 is made longer than the first contact part 30 for the arc, the arc is generated in the first contact part 30 for the arc, and electrical connection is conducted with the second contact part 31 for the connection.
