PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an axle housing wherein the strength is largely secured without increasing the weight and the section height. SOLUTION: In the axle housing, U-shaped cross sectional projecting parts (bulges) 13, 14 composing a banjo part 12 are swollen to the center, and two main members 15, 16 forming semicircular sectional projecting parts 5, 6 composing a straight pipe part in the right and left side of the projecting parts 13, 14 are symmetrically put together and joined by welding. End parts a to d of the bulges 13, 14 of the banjo part 12 are set at asymmetrical position vertically or horizontally, and the strength of the axle housing is secured without increasing the weight and the section height, on the contrary, rather decreasing the weight.
